Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use BoltPDF ("we", "us"), including the website, the app, the API, the MCP server and the free tools. By creating an account or using BoltPDF, you agree to them. If you use BoltPDF for an organization, you agree on its behalf and confirm you can do so. If you don't agree, don't use BoltPDF.

BoltPDF lets you turn PDF forms into templates, save clients' information as records, fill forms, packets and documents from those records, collect information and e-signatures from clients, and automate that work through automations, the API, webhooks and AI assistants. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

• You must be at least 18 to create an account.
• Give accurate information, keep your sign-in details secret, and tell us right away if you think someone else is using your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
• An organization's admins control its forms, records and members, and can see its access log. The organization is responsible for what its members do in BoltPDF.

• BoltPDF is a paid subscription, priced per seat and billed monthly or yearly, with a free trial. Plans, prices and AI page allowances are on our pricing page.
• Lemon Squeezy sells the subscription as the merchant of record, so its terms also apply to your payment, and it handles sales tax and VAT.
• Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
• If a payment fails or your subscription ends, features that need a subscription stop working until you subscribe again.
• If we change prices, we'll tell you before the change applies to your next renewal.

You own the files you upload and the information you put into BoltPDF. You give us permission to store, process and show it only as needed to provide BoltPDF to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

You're responsible for the information you put into BoltPDF or collect through it, including your clients' information. That means you must:

• have the right, and any consent or legal basis the law requires, to collect your clients' information, store it in BoltPDF, and send them requests and emails through it;
• meet any professional or legal duties you have for that information, such as confidentiality rules for tax preparers;
• check the forms and documents BoltPDF makes before you file, send or rely on them.

We process your clients' information only on your instructions and to provide BoltPDF to you.

AI field detection, the free fillable PDF tool and reading client files use AI. AI can miss fields, place them in the wrong spot, or read a value wrong. Review what it finds before you use it. You're responsible for the forms you file and the values you save.

• BoltPDF confirms each signer's email with a one-time code, has them accept an e-sign disclosure, records an audit trail, and attaches a certificate page to the signed PDF.
• You decide whether an electronic signature is right for each document. Some documents can't be signed electronically, and some government agencies and forms have their own rules, such as extra identity checks or a handwritten signature. You're responsible for meeting them.
• BoltPDF isn't a party to the documents signed through it.

Client requests, reminders, signing links and automation emails go out from BoltPDF on your behalf. Send them only to people you work with or who expect to hear from you, and never use BoltPDF for spam. We may limit how many emails an account sends.

• Keep your API keys secret. You're responsible for everything done with them and through the apps you allow with "Sign in with BoltPDF".
• The API, MCP server and webhooks have rate limits. Don't use them to get around limits or billing, or to resell access to BoltPDF without our written permission.
• Apps and URLs you connect, such as an AI assistant, Zapier or your own webhook endpoint, handle the information you send them under their own terms. We're not responsible for them.

The free fillable PDF tool and the demo have usage limits, and we may change or end any free tool at any time. Fillable PDF tool uploads are deleted after a day unless you save the result as a template. Only upload files you have the right to use.

You agree not to:

• use BoltPDF for anything unlawful, fraudulent or misleading;
• sign for someone else, or present a document as signed by someone who didn't sign it;
• collect or store other people's information without the authorization the law requires;
• try to get into accounts, data or systems you're not allowed to access, or test BoltPDF's security without our permission (we welcome reports of security problems at princh@boltpdf.com);
• interfere with BoltPDF, overload it, or upload malware or files meant to harm it;
• copy, scrape or reverse engineer BoltPDF, except where the law allows it.

Uploads have size limits, shown where you upload. We may remove files that break these terms.

BoltPDF is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that AI results will be accurate, or that a filled or signed form will be accepted by any agency or person. BoltPDF doesn't give legal, tax or accounting advice.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of BoltPDF. Our total liability for any claim about BoltPDF is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

If someone makes a claim against us because of your content, the information you collected through BoltPDF, or your breach of these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

You can stop using BoltPDF and cancel your subscription at any time, and email us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts BoltPDF or others at risk, with notice where we reasonably can. After an account is closed, its information is deleted as our Privacy Policy describes, so download anything you need first.

When we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also email account owners before it takes effect. Using BoltPDF after a change takes effect means you accept it.
